Dear Motiv Fitness gym members,
The following procedures have been put in place to help prevent the spread of Covid-19 and keep the gym a clean and safe environment to workout out and stay healthy and strong.
Re-opening date: Monday, June 15th, 2020
The Nova Scotia Fitness Association has put forth recommendations for 144 square feet per person during phase-1 reopening. Going by this proposal we will operate at a limited capacity. As of June 15th the capacity limit will be 50 members.
Updated Operating Hours
- Mon-Fri 6am-8pm *CLOSED weekdays from 2-3pm for cleaning and gym reset
- Saturday & Sunday / 8am-5pm
- Seniors Hour will be everyday from 10am-11pm
(This time is reserved for age 60+ and immune compromised members)
🔹 Upon entering the gym we ask that you maintain social distancing guidelines and remain 6ft from each other at all times unless they are in your immediate household /bubble.
🔹 At this time, you are not allowed to bring a gym bag or other personal belongings with you into our facility (personal safety equipment such as belts are allowed but please keep items on you at all times).
Please arrive ready in your workout attire and clean indoor shoes, water bottle and a workout plan.
🔹 You will be required to sanitize your hands upon arrival.
🔹 Pre-Screening and a new COVID-19 waiver is required to be completed upon entry. We ask if any staff or gym member are experiencing any of the following symptoms that you do not enter our facility.
- Fever (i.e. chills, sweats)
- Cough or worsening of a previous cough
- Sore throat
- Shortness of breath
- Muscle aches
- Nasal Congestion/runny nose
- Hoarse voice
- Unusual fatigue
- Loss of sense of smell or taste
- Red, purple or bluish lesions, on the feet, toes or fingers without clear cause
🔹 To cut back on your time in the gym our change rooms are for necessary washroom use only. Towel service and showers will be unavailable during the first phase of reopening.
🔹 Upon arrival you will be provided with a personal hand towel and spray bottle to keep this with you for the duration of your workout. We ask that you please return your used towel and bottle in the provided area at the front desk when your workout is complete. Each bottle will be disinfected before being placed back for the next individual use.
🔹 The water fountain will not be available at this time. Please arrive with your pre-filled water bottle. Bottled water will be available at the front desk for $1. Shakes and pre-workout scoops will also be available to purchase. Please ask a staff member for assistance.
🔹 At this time shared items such as yoga mats, belts and bands will be unavailable for use.
🔹Members are asked to disinfect each piece of equipment before and after use. We will be monitoring to ensure these new requirements are met.
🔹 Please follow the new directional arrows found on the floor to regulate traffic flow throughout the facility.
🔹 For the safety of our staff and members, no classes will be available during the first phase of opening.
🔹 Hand sanitizing stations will be available throughout the facility and encourage members to sanitize their hands diligently before and throughout your workout.
🔹We are unable to accept cash at this time and encourage the use of contactless payment methods for your membership and supplement payments. Supplements can also be pre-ordered online for pickup.
🔹 Masks are mandatory when entering and leaving the facility as well as for personal training sessions, visits to the washroom and any time between stations/equipment where social distance of 6ft can not be met. The use of latex gloves are restricted in the facility, except staff for cleaning purposes.
🔹 Memberships & bi-weekly AFT payments:
Bi-weekly payments will be reinstated starting June 22nd, all other current memberships will be reinstated immediately. If you would like to have the time missed from the mandatory shutdown re-added to your membership please come see us at the front desk before August 15th.
These new set rules are for the safety of staff and all members. Failure to follow these rules may result in temporary or permanent suspension of membership. We ask that you please be respectful to staff and fellow members while in our facility to workout. These rules are new to everyone and we expect it will take time to get into our new routine.
